ARTICLE II: MEMBERSHIP


Section 1: Classes of Membership
A. Individual: Any individual who is in accord with the purposes of this
organization and who pays the dues established by the Executive Board
shall be eligible for membership.
B. Institutional: Any institution whose purposes are similar to those of CCIS
and which pays the dues established by the Executive Board.
C. Honorary: All past presidents and Executive Board members who have
served two or more terms shall be honorary lifetime members.
Section 2: Membership Year
The membership year shall be from July 1 to June 30.
Section 3: Rights of Members
Members shall have the right to:
1. vote in region and/or Executive Board elections.
2. vote on business brought before the participants at professional development events with a majority vote by those in attendance determining the outcome.
3. be considered for nomination to region and/or Executive Board office/
4. attend region workshop and meetings, professional development events, and/or compliance workshops.
5. receive updated legislative information concerning independent study.
6. receive updated information from the California Department of Education concerning independent study.
7. receive support from region and/or Executive Board members as well as the CDE Board liaison.
