AB 130 was signed into law by Governor Newsom on July 9, 2021, and immediately went into effect. This means that there are some significant changes that need to be made to Board Policies and Master Agreements in the coming weeks. This video is meant to provide you with an update on the changes and discuss some of the potential issues that may arise for your LEA.
As this is a new law, we are still awaiting guidance and regulations from the CDE. In the meantime, we are currently working with lobbyists with the hope that there might be the possibility of some clean-up language for some of our biggest concerns. As always, CCIS recommends that you work closely with your auditor and legal departments as you work carefully through the new Ed code and develop new Board Policy, Master Agreements, and procedures for implementation.
